BioActive is a complex growing medium that provides the moisture-retentive foundation of eight PlantScraper specialist substrate formulas.

It combines organic and mineral materials, including composted plant materials, worm humus and biochar. Rather than serving only as a fine filler, this combination provides the foundation around which we balance coarser bark, perlite, coco chips and fibres.

Use it as a measured component in custom indoor plant substrates, or alone where its moisture behaviour suits the plant and container.

For a ready-blended substrate, choose Essential or Supreme Aroid Mix, Monstera Mix, Anthurium Mix, Alocasia Mix, Hoya Mix, Cactus and Succulent Mix or Fine Seeding Mix, according to the plant and growing method.

For custom substrates: Measure by volume and combine with structural ingredients according to the plant's roots, pot, watering habits and growing environment.

Add chunky perlite or bark when greater aeration and drainage are required. Add coco husk chips or tree fern fibre when structured moisture retention or fibrous root contact is needed.

Do not assume one custom recipe suits every plant. Changing particle size or proportions changes how the root zone wets and dries. Fill loosely, avoid heavy compression and allow excess water to drain.

Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Close the bag after use.
