Essential combines graded bark, chunky perlite and buffered coco chips for a versatile, open aroid substrate. Supreme uses 15% New Zealand tree fern fibre for a more fibrous root environment and moisture distribution.

Both contain 30% BioActive growing medium, a complex foundation combining organic and mineral materials, including composted plant materials, worm humus and biochar.

• Published recipes: Both blends follow fixed volumetric formulations rather than approximate scoops.
• 30% chunky perlite: Low-dust European perlite graded to approximately 5 to 15 mm provides a coarse mineral component throughout both mixes.
• Defined bark sizes: Small pine bark is graded to 8 to 15 mm; Essential also contains 15 to 25 mm large pine bark.
• Processed coco: Washed and buffered coco husk chips, approximately 10 to 15 mm, retain moisture while contributing coarse structure.
• A genuine choice of structure: Essential uses 20% bark and 20% coco chips. Supreme uses 15% bark, 10% coco chips and 15% tree fern fibre. Supreme is a different formulation, not simply Essential with an extra ingredient.
• Laboratory-informed development: Tested samples measured approximately pH 6.0 for Essential and pH 5.5 for Supreme in water. These results describe the tested samples, not a guaranteed value for every bag.
• Prepared in Prague: Ingredients are measured, mixed, inspected and packed by PlantScraper.

Essential mix is a versatile choice for adaptable indoor aroids, including Philodendrons, Epipremnums, Syngoniums and Scindapsus suited to an airy organic substrate.

Supreme mix is for growers who want a more fibrous structure around climbing, epiphytic or collector aroid roots. Choose it for that physical difference, not simply because a plant is rare or expensive.

Match the substrate to the root system, pot, light and watering routine as well as the plant name.

Use directly from the bag in a pot with effective drainage. Additional ingredients are not required.

1. Loosen and redistribute the mix inside the bag.
2. Position the plant in a pot suited to its current root system.
3. Fill around the roots without compressing the substrate into a dense mass.
4. Tap the pot gently to settle particles into larger gaps.
5. Water thoroughly and allow excess water to drain completely.

Check moisture below the dry surface instead of watering on a fixed schedule. Adjust watering to the plant, pot and growing conditions.

Experienced growers can modify the structure with chunky perlite, tree fern fibre or coco husk chips. Any addition changes the original formulation and moisture behaviour.
