A mineral-dominant cactus and succulent substrate designed for drainage, physical structure and root aeration.

The published recipe combines 60% fine mineral mix and 10% chunky perlite by volume with 30% BioActive growing medium. The mineral components form the main framework, while BioActive provides a moisture-retentive foundation for container growing.

• 60% fine mineral mix: Pumice, lava and zeolite provide the main mineral framework.
• 2 to 8 mm mineral grading: A defined particle range for the bulk of the recipe.
• 10% chunky perlite: Adds a lightweight mineral component, approximately 5 to 15 mm.
• 30% BioActive growing medium: A measured proportion of a complex organic and mineral base, including materials such as composted plant matter, worm humus and biochar.
• Laboratory-informed development: A tested sample measured approximately pH 6.0 in water. This describes the tested sample, not a guaranteed value for every bag.

Different from Mineral Substrate Mix: This formula contains BioActive growing medium and is intended as a potting mix. Our Fine and Chunky Mineral Mixes use a different composition for mineral growing setups.

Water requirements still vary by species, pot size, temperature, light and season.

Use directly from the bag in a pot with an unobstructed drainage hole.

Position the plant and settle the substrate gently around the roots without heavy compression. Water thoroughly when the plant requires it, then allow all excess water to drain.

Do not water on a fixed schedule. Check the root zone and adjust frequency to the plant, season, container and environment. Reduce watering when growth and evaporation slow.
