In detail

Why this product?

This complete set combines moss pole stability with reservoir-based watering in one integrated system.

A classic moss pole is mechanically anchored to a matching self-watering aroid pot, while the included wick supports capillary movement from the reservoir.

It is designed for growers who want a stable long-term climbing setup with more consistent moisture management from the beginning.

Why it works
  • Mechanical anchoring: Connects the pole to the pot instead of relying on substrate alone.
  • Reservoir watering: The wick moves moisture upward through capillary action.
  • Matched geometry: Pole size, anchor and pot are designed to work as one system.
  • Stable moisture access: Helps reduce large fluctuations between wet and dry conditions once the system is established.
  • Top and bottom hydration: Adding a rapid dripper hydrates and fertilises the upper pole while the reservoir supplies moisture from below.

For this system, long-fibre sphagnum moss is strongly recommended inside the pole because its continuous fibres support capillary movement more effectively than a coarse moss pole mix.

Best suited for
  • Monsteras
  • Philodendrons
  • Epipremnums
  • Scindapsus
  • Other climbing aroids
  • Growers wanting a stable self-watering moss pole system

The letter indicates the moss pole size. The number indicates the diameter of the self-watering aroid pot in centimetres.

How to use it

Assemble the pot, anchor and moss pole before potting the plant.

When moving from a normal pot into an anchored setup, allow additional diameter because the anchor occupies internal space. A size increase of approximately 4 to 8 cm compared with an unanchored setup is normally appropriate.

Pass the wick through an opening at the base of the moss pole so sufficient wick remains inside the water reservoir. The current pot design does not require a central wick hole.

Use long-fibre sphagnum moss inside the pole and a substrate suited to reservoir watering in the pot, such as mineral substrate mix.

A rapid dripper remains strongly recommended for watering the upper section and delivering diluted fertiliser directly to aerial roots.
