The front can be opened whenever established aerial roots, nodes or cuttings need to be accessed, making the system particularly useful for propagation, air layering, plant removal and future upgrades.

They provide the same principle of keeping the rooting medium behind the climbing stem while prioritising flexibility and access over maximum permanent rigidity.

Fill the pole with long-fibre sphagnum moss or moss pole filling mix without compressing the growing medium excessively.

Install the pole during potting. For long-term use, pair it with the matching standard anchor for front opening moss poles.

Use a plant tie to keep the main stem and nodes against the rooting surface while allowing petioles and leaves to orient toward the light.

Always water from the top. A rapid dripper for front opening moss poles makes hydration and fertilisation considerably easier.

Extend the pole before roots reach the top. For very tall permanent systems requiring maximum rigidity, use classic moss poles.
