This self-watering anchor connects a classic moss pole to the matching self-watering aroid pot, creating a stable base and a route for a self-watering wick to carry moisture from the reservoir into the pole.

Instead of depending on wet substrate to hold a tall support upright, the anchor secures the pole to the pot and helps reduce leaning, rotation and toppling as the climbing plant becomes heavier.

The wick moves water by capillary action, but moisture distribution still depends on pole height, moss packing and room conditions. Self-watering does not eliminate moisture checks or top watering.

The letter identifies the pole size. The number identifies the compatible pot diameter in centimetres.

For top watering, match the anchored closing position with an classic rapid dripper: S, M2, L3 or XL3.

1. Install before planting: Fit the anchor and classic moss pole inside the empty compatible self-watering aroid pot before adding substrate. For an established plant, install during repotting.
2. Allow for internal space: The anchor occupies pot volume, so choose a setup that accommodates both the current root ball and future roots.
3. Use the correct media: Use a suitable mineral substrate in the pot and pure long-fibre sphagnum moss inside the pole. moss pole filling mix is not suitable for this wick-fed setup.
4. Route the wick: Run a self-watering wick from the reservoir into the sphagnum. Moisten both before assembly and maintain continuous contact between them.
5. Attach the plant: Guide the aerial-root side of the stem towards the open pole face and secure the stem loosely with a plant tie.

Approximate dry sphagnum per pole: S 15 g, M 30 g, L 50 g and XL 100 g. Actual quantity depends on packing density.

Check moisture along the pole, especially near the top, and water from above when needed. Use a compatible classic rapid dripper for top hydration and correctly diluted fertiliser. Monitor the reservoir during top watering to prevent overflow.

Treat the anchor as a long-term part of the planted setup. Roots may grow through it, making later separation difficult. When moving the plant, support the pot from underneath instead of lifting it by the pole.
