What this product is

The PlantScraper Front Opening Single Standard Anchor is a standalone stabilization anchor designed specifically for PlantScraper front-opening moss poles used in standard aroid pots.

It physically locks the moss pole to the pot, transferring the plant’s weight into the anchor and container, instead of relying on substrate alone.

This listing includes the anchor only.
A front-opening moss pole is required.
Pairing with a standard aroid pot is optional but strongly recommended for proper stability.

This anchor is built for long-term plant training, not temporary support.

Front opening anchors can be easily reused.

Why and when to use an anchor

Climbing plants are trained long-term, not supported temporarily. Without anchoring, moss poles eventually lean, rotate, or destabilize as the plant grows.

Anchoring must be planned from the very beginning when poling up a plant.
Adding an anchor later almost always requires repotting and root disturbance, which defeats the purpose of a clean system.

Use an anchor from day one when:

  • the plant is intended to grow vertically on a moss pole that later on will be extended
  • long-term growth is planned
  • you want to avoid rebuilding the setup later

Anchors are not an upgrade. They are part of the system design.

Compatibility and pot sizing

This anchor is engineered to work as one unified system with PlantScraper Prime Line components.

  • Compatible only with PlantScraper front-opening moss poles
  • Not compatible with Classic Line D-shape moss poles
  • Not compatible with self-watering aroid pots
  • Not compatible with non-PlantScraper pots or moss poles

Pot sizing is critical for stability. When using an anchor, always size up your pot.
Recommended increase is 4 to 8 cm in diameter compared to a regular setup. The anchor occupies internal space, so extra room is required for the anchor itself.

Understanding size naming

Each option combines the moss pole size and the pot diameter it is designed to fit.

  • The letter refers to the moss pole size
  • The number refers to the pot top diameter in centimeters
  • Example: L18 means an L size front-opening moss pole anchored in an 18 cm pot

This ensures correct fit, alignment, and long-term stability.

Watering, fertilization, and materials

The anchor is made from PETG plastic, selected for strength and long-term resistance to constant moisture and fertilizers. It does not soften, crack, or degrade over time and is suitable for permanent indoor use.

Front-opening moss poles must always be watered from the top and fertilized regularly, as sphagnum moss and moss pole mix contain no nutrients.

Drippers are compatible and strongly recommended for consistent hydration and precise fertilization through the pole.
