A soil-free mineral substrate made from pumice, lava and zeolite for semi-hydroponics, self-watering pots and grower-controlled nutrition.

Choose the fine 2-8 mm grade for stronger capillary movement and closer contact around finer roots, or the chunky 8-16 mm grade for larger air spaces around substantial root systems.

When transferring a plant from organic substrate, remove as much loose organic material as practical without unnecessarily damaging healthy roots.

Fill the pot loosely and settle the mineral mix gently around the roots. Do not compact it. Use with the reservoir, wick or irrigation method required by the selected pot.

Mineral substrate supplies the physical root environment but does not provide a complete nutrient programme. Apply a suitable fertiliser through the irrigation water and adjust feeding to the plant, season, light and water quality.

Periodically flush with clean water to reduce accumulated fertiliser salts. If loose dust is visible after transport, rinse the substrate briefly before use.
