In detail

Why this fertiliser?

Feed orchids and other indoor plants with complete nutrition and plant-supporting compounds from one bottle.

HESI OrchiVit combines an NPK fertiliser with secondary nutrients, chelated micronutrients, vitamins, amino acids and plant sugars. Its adjustable dosage accommodates both slow-growing orchids and more actively growing houseplants without requiring separate base fertilisers and boosters.

What sets it apart
  • Fertiliser and booster combined: Provides primary nutrition together with compounds normally supplied through additional plant boosters.
  • Based on three HESI formulas: Combines the nutrient foundation of TNT Complex with vitamins and other active substances found in Root Complex and SuperVit.
  • Adjustable concentration: Offers different root-feeding rates for slow-growing and fast-growing plants.
  • Suitable for growth and flowering: The 4-2-3 formula can support orchids throughout active vegetative and flowering periods.
  • Chelated micronutrients: Helps keep trace elements available for plant uptake.
  • Root or foliar application: Can be supplied through the growing medium or applied as a dilute foliage feed.
  • Multiple growing methods: Suitable for soil, coco, orchid substrates, hydroponics and semi-hydroponics.

OrchiVit is inspired by the specialised nutrition of epiphytic orchids, but it does not contain beneficial fungi or recreate the fungal relationships found around wild orchid roots.

Best suited for

Use OrchiVit with:

  • Phalaenopsis and other commonly cultivated orchids
  • Epiphytic orchids grown in bark or tree fern fibre
  • Orchids grown in sphagnum moss
  • Orchids in mineral or semi-hydroponic substrates
  • Slow-growing foliage plants
  • Faster-growing indoor plants requiring complete nutrition
  • Soil, coco and hydroponic cultivation

Begin at the lower end of the dosage range for orchids with sensitive roots, plants growing slowly or plants receiving limited light.

Routine combination with HESI TNT Complex, Root Complex or SuperVit is generally unnecessary, as OrchiVit already incorporates their principal nutrient and vitality components. Avoid stacking full doses unless a specific feeding programme requires it.

How to use it

Root feeding

  • Slow-growing plants: Mix 1 to 2 ml per litre of water.
  • Fast-growing plants: Mix 3 to 5 ml per litre of water.

Foliar feeding

  • Mix 1 ml per litre of water.
  • Apply lightly to suitable foliage.
  • Avoid open flowers and newly unfurling or delicate leaves.
  • Keep treated plants away from direct sunlight and strong grow lights until dry.

Apply 1 to 4 times per month, adjusting the concentration and frequency to the plant’s growth rate, light, substrate and watering requirements.

Do not fertilise during a genuine resting period when the plant’s species-specific care requires feeding to stop. Reduce feeding when growth slows rather than assuming that every orchid becomes dormant after flowering.

Apply through an already appropriate watering routine and allow excess solution to drain. Periodically flush bark, sphagnum and other orchid media with clean water to reduce accumulated fertiliser salts.

Formula and contents

Declared formula:

  • NPK 4-2-3
  • Secondary nutrients, including magnesium and calcium
  • Chelated micronutrients
  • Vitamins
  • Amino acids
  • Plant sugars
  • Additional plant-active substances

Available bottle sizes:

  • 0.5 L
  • 1 L

Every option includes one bottle in the selected size. Choose the bottle only or the option containing one measuring pipette and one holder.
