See what is happening below the surface with a clear growing pot that combines root visibility, generous drainage and side ventilation.

Inspect visible roots and moisture distribution without unpotting your plant, making watering decisions and changes in substrate condition easier to assess. Internal fins help discourage root circling as the plant develops.

Why it works

Transparent walls: Reveal visible root growth, uneven moisture and signs of substrate compaction that an opaque pot would hide.
Eight rows of side ventilation openings: Allow air into the growing area instead of relying only on air exchange at the substrate surface.
Open drainage base: Lets excess water escape freely after watering.
Internal anti-spiral fins: Interrupt the circular path along the inner wall and help guide developing roots downwards.
PP plastic construction: Durable for long-term indoor growing and recyclable where suitable local collection facilities exist.

The fins discourage root circling but do not replace repotting once the roots fill the available space.

Best suited for

Aroids and other indoor plants that benefit from an airy root environment, grown in organic or mineral substrates.

Suitable options include:

PlantScraper Aroid Mix.
Other coarse, well-draining organic aroid mixes.
Mineral mixes and pon-style substrates.
Expanded clay and similar semi-hydro media.

Avoid fine or compacted mixes that remain wet for too long, as they reduce the benefit of the pot’s ventilation.

Choose for the roots and growing setup

Select a size that accommodates the current root system and expected growth. An unnecessarily large pot can make moisture management harder.

If using a moss pole anchor, allow additional space for the anchor, substrate and developing roots. Plan the support for the plant’s future size and install it from the beginning; adding an anchor later usually requires repotting and may disturb roots.

System compatibility

Depending on size, these pots work with matching PlantScraper classic and front opening moss pole anchors, moss pole systems, ventilated covers, sealed covers and compatible reservoir accessories.

Check each accessory’s compatibility before ordering. Matching diameter alone does not guarantee a correct fit.

For semi-hydro growing, add a compatible self-watering cover or correctly fitted reservoir. The pot has no built-in reservoir, and a standard saucer is not a self-watering system.

How to use it

With organic substrate

Choose a coarse, well-draining mix.
Fill around the roots without compressing the substrate excessively.
Water thoroughly from the top.
Let excess water drain completely.
Empty any water collected in the saucer.

Use the clear walls to help assess when watering is needed, alongside the plant’s condition and substrate moisture. Condensation alone does not mean the entire root zone is evenly moist.

With mineral substrate or a semi-hydro reservoir

Use mineral media suited to capillary moisture movement.
When adding a reservoir, maintain the intended connection between the stored water and substrate according to that system’s instructions.
Follow the reservoir’s filling guidance and check its level regularly.
Fertilise according to the plant’s needs and any nutrients already supplied by the substrate. Unenriched mineral media provide little or no nutrition.
Periodically flush accumulated mineral residue.

Monitor roots and light exposure

A compatible outer cover reduces direct light exposure while allowing you to remove the clear pot for inspection. Prolonged light exposure can encourage algae in moist conditions, but algae alone does not indicate unhealthy roots.
