What this product is

The Single Self-Watering Anchor is a standalone stabilization anchor designed for PlantScraper self-watering aroid pots used together with Classic Line D-shape moss poles.

It physically locks the moss pole to the self-watering pot, transferring the plant’s weight into the anchor and container instead of relying on substrate alone, while allowing proper capillary hydration through the wick system.

A moss pole and self-watering aroid pot are required to use this product.
This listing includes the anchor only.

This anchor is built for long-term training, not temporary support.

Why and when to use a moss pole anchor

Climbing plants gain height and weight quickly. In self-watering setups, constant moisture and looser substrate make unanchored moss poles especially prone to leaning, rotation, and toppling.

This anchor is recommended from the very beginning when poling up a plant.
Adding an anchor later usually requires repotting and root disturbance.

Anchoring and moss pole size must always be planned based on the plant’s future size, not its current size. Large climbers should never start on small poles, such as monsteras.

Compatibility and pot sizing

This anchor is engineered to work as one unified system with PlantScraper self-watering components.

  • Compatible only with PlantScraper self-watering aroid pots
  • Compatible only with PlantScraper Classic Line D-shape moss poles
  • Not compatible with front-opening moss poles
  • Not compatible with standard (non self-watering) pots
  • Not compatible with non-PlantScraper pots or moss poles

Pot sizing is critical for stability and performance

  • When using a self-watering anchor, always size up your pot.
  • Recommended increase is 4 to 8 cm in diameter compared to a regular setup.
  • The anchor occupies internal space, so extra room is required for the anchor itself
Understanding size naming

Each option combines the moss pole size and the self-watering aroid pot diameter.

• The letter refers to the moss pole size
• The number refers to the pot top diameter in centimeters

Examples:

  • S12 = S size moss pole in a 12 cm self-watering aroid pot
  • M15 = M size moss pole in a 15 cm self-watering aroid pot
  • XL21 = XL size moss pole in a 21 cm self-watering aroid pot
Watering, fertilization, materials, and practical notes

The anchor is made from PETG plastic, selected for strength and long-term resistance to constant moisture and fertilizers. It does not soften, crack, or degrade over time.

This system relies on capillary action via a wick. Water is pulled upwards from the reservoir once the plant is established. Performance improves as roots develop and actively draw moisture.

For self-watering systems, use pure sphagnum moss only inside the moss pole.
Moss pole mix is not suitable for capillary setups.

Drippers are strongly recommended, even with self-watering pots:

  • Self-watering hydrates from below
  • Drippers hydrate the moss pole from the top
  • Together they provide complete vertical hydration and allow precise fertilization

Dripper size for anchored self-watering setups

  • S anchored poles use S drippers
  • M anchored poles use M2 drippers
  • L anchored poles use L3 drippers
  • XL anchored poles use XL3 drippers
