In detail

Why this product?

Give deeper-rooting plants more vertical growing space without taking up unnecessary shelf or tray space.

The tall profile accommodates elongated root systems, while the square footprint allows multiple pots to sit closely together. The clear matte finish makes it easier to monitor root development and substrate moisture without exposing roots as fully as completely transparent plastic.

Why it works
  • Tall growing area: Provides generous vertical space for roots to develop downwards.
  • Square footprint: Uses space efficiently in propagation trays, grow cabinets and shelving.
  • Base drainage openings: Allow excess water to leave the substrate after watering.
  • Side ventilation openings: Increase air exchange around the substrate, supporting more even drying, oxygen availability and moisture management.
  • Clear matte plastic: Provides a useful view of roots and moisture while diffusing some light compared with completely transparent plastic.

The tall shape provides additional vertical growing space. It does not contain internal anti-spiral fins or other mechanical root-guiding features.

Best suited for

Indoor aroids and other plants that develop deeper or elongated root systems. The available sizes accommodate plants ranging from very small cuttings and seedlings to larger established specimens.

They can be used with:

  • Well-draining organic aroid mixes
  • Mineral substrates, when a suitable reservoir setup is created

For semi-hydro growing, place the pot inside the matching PlantScraper pot cover designed for Tower Aroid Pots. The cover holds the water reservoir beneath the growing pot.

The Tower Aroid Pot is a ventilated drainage pot and is not self-watering on its own.

How to use it

Choose the right size

Select a pot based on the plant’s current root system rather than its foliage alone. An oversized pot may hold moisture for longer than the roots can use it.

Water and monitor

  1. Add the plant and a suitable well-draining substrate.
  2. Water the substrate thoroughly.
  3. Allow excess water to drain completely.
  4. Adjust the watering frequency according to the plant, substrate and growing conditions.

For mineral or semi-hydro growing, use the matching PlantScraper pot cover to create an appropriate reservoir setup.

The translucent finish does not fully block light. Avoid leaving sensitive roots exposed to strong direct sunlight.

Clean and reuse

  • Clean the pot by hand using warm water and a mild detergent.
  • Rinse thoroughly before reuse.
  • Keep the drainage and ventilation openings clear.
